In September 2026 our team completed water damage restoration work in Huntingfield TAS 7055, documenting five rooms over the course of the job. The work was carried out in line with IICRC S500, the industry standard for water damage restoration.

The first stage is assessment. Our technician checks moisture levels across the affected floors and skirting boards using a pin moisture meter. Timber flooring is a common concern in jobs like this because water can soak into the boards and the subfloor, so readings are taken at several points to map how far the water has travelled. This tells us which materials can be dried in place and which may need to come out.
Once the readings are mapped, drying begins. On this job, two air movers and a dehumidifier were set up to dry the timber-look kitchen and dining floor. Air movers push air across the surface to speed up evaporation, while the dehumidifier pulls moisture out of the air so the materials can keep drying rather than reabsorbing it. Equipment placement matters, and it is adjusted as readings change. Progress is monitored on alternate days, with readings recorded so the drying can be confirmed rather than assumed.

For a homeowner or business in Huntingfield and the surrounding area, water damage tends to be easy to underestimate. Water that looks contained can keep moving through flooring, skirting and wall cavities for days, and materials that stay damp can start to swell, lift or grow mould. Getting moisture readings early gives a clearer picture of what can be saved and what needs replacing, which is useful whether the costs are being managed directly or through an insurance claim.
Where a claim is involved, we liaise with the insurer on the scope of work and keep the documentation of readings and drying progress up to date. Our project process follows the claim from start to finish, with live onsite reporting, scopes and quotes, and a completion report at the end of the job. This update is a record of the work completed in Huntingfield in September 2026.
