Work follows IICRC S520. We inspect the rooms and find what’s holding the moisture, then seal off the work area. Materials the mould has gone through are removed and bagged, surfaces that stay get an antimicrobial treatment, and drying equipment goes in. You can usually stay in the house while the work goes on, keeping out of the sealed area. We check progress on alternate days, and you’ll get a completion report within 24 to 48 hours of the job finishing.
Coastal damp and why wiping it fails
Beach houses at Kingscliff, Cabarita Beach and Pottsville, and homes around Banora Point and Murwillumbah, can hold damp in wardrobes, ceilings and closed-up rooms. Wiping the mould off leaves the damp behind, so it grows back in the same place. Common questions
Is the mould dangerous?
In a small patch, rarely. It matters more over a large area, when it keeps returning, or with asthma or allergies in the house.
Can I just clean it myself?
A surface spot, yes. Mould in wall cavities, ceilings or carpet underlay needs removal and drying.
Will it come back?
Not once the moisture source is fixed and the building is properly dry. That’s the whole point of starting with the source.
What about my furniture and contents?
