Water damage restoration on the Sunshine Coast means finding where the water is coming from and stopping it, extracting what is standing, drying the structure with monitoring, and restoring what was affected. Elite Restoration carries the work out in line with IICRC S500, and the Sunshine Coast is a metro area for our response targets, so we aim to be on site within 2 hours of an emergency call.
The first hours decide how much is dried and how much is removed. Carpet, underlay and plasterboard reached early can usually be dried in place.

Nothing was too hard and Guosheng had multiple tricks up his sleeve to ensure maximum drying capacity. Recent work on the Coast runs from an office in Mooloolaba in August 2026 to a unit in Mount Coolum and properties in Yandina Creek and Shelly Beach. At a Yandina property in July 2026 the contents were relocated for the building works, which is part of the job when a room has to be cleared before it can be dried. A wet office or a holiday unit between bookings is handled the same way as a family home: measure, dry, document.
How a Sunshine Coast job runs
The call. Emergency mitigation call-out runs 24/7, 365 days a year, with a 2-hour on-site target in metro areas.
Inspection and moisture mapping. The technician traces the source and measures how far the water has travelled through floors, walls and joinery. Reports, scopes and quotes are produced live on site.
Stop the source and extract. Standing water comes out before any drying equipment goes in.
Dry and monitor. Air movers and dehumidifiers run in the affected rooms, and readings are taken on alternate days.
Remove what can’t be saved. Material that stayed wet too long, or anything touched by contaminated water, comes out, and the scope says so beforehand.
Report. An initial report and a scope or quote within 24 hours, a completion report within 24 to 48 hours of finishing.
Most people stay in the property while it dries. The equipment runs in the affected rooms and the rest carries on.
Where the water came from
A burst pipe or a leaking appliance is clean water, and caught early the job is mostly extraction and drying. A roof leak in a storm has been through the roof space. Floodwater and sewage are contaminated, so porous materials they touched come out rather than being dried. The fourth case is the wall that was wiped down after an earlier leak and never dried inside, which is where mould begins. The inspection measures the cavity, not the paint, and where sample testing helps it goes through NATA-accredited laboratory partners.
