Mould Remediation Sunshine Coast That Starts With the Damp
Mould remediation on the Sunshine Coast is about stopping the moisture as much as removing the growth. The job runs from finding the water source to containing the area, removing affected material, treating what remains and drying the structure. A spray and wipe only handles the part you can see.
Not every patch needs a professional. A little mould on grout or a bathroom ceiling is usually a ventilation and cleaning job. Large areas, mould inside walls or ceilings, or growth in a home with someone who has asthma or allergies are the times to call.

“We had a pipe burst in our ceiling, water seeped into our walls and our unit was at a very high risk for mould :( Guosheng worked tirelessly to ensure the drying process went as smooth as possible, even working until the evening on a Friday to ensure our walls would be dry and safe over the weekend! An extremely proficient and productive company that thrives on providing excellent service and quality work. Thank you so much for all of your help! <3”
“Guosheng from Elite Restoration did an amazing job dealing with the water damage to my unit, due to a burst pipe. Nothing was too hard and Guosheng had multiple tricks up his sleeve to ensure maximum drying capacity. The communication throughout the whole process was excellent, which made this very stressful situation for me a lot easier to handle. Thanks so much Guosheng.☺️”
Mould remediation is never a simple clean. Under the
IICRC S520 Standard for Professional Mould Remediation,
treating mould without a proper inspection risks missing the underlying
moisture source and leads to recurrence. Every mould job starts with a
professional inspection by S520-certified technicians, so containment,
controls and the remediation scope are set correctly from day one.
Inspection from $350 inc. GST. Remediation is scoped and
quoted separately, only after the inspection.
Find the cause — identify the moisture source so remediation actually holds.
Set containment — protect unaffected areas during the work.
Clear scope & documentation — written report you can give insurers or strata managers.
Want to know exactly what you’ll receive? Download a real example of the
written report our S520-certified technicians produce after a mould
inspection — findings, moisture readings, photos and the recommended
remediation scope.
We work in line with IICRC S520, and our technicians hold IICRC certification in applied microbial remediation and applied structural drying.
Find the source
We inspect the affected rooms and look for where the moisture is getting in. If you need to know what the mould is, samples go to NATA-accredited laboratory partners.
Contain and remove
The work area is closed off before anything is disturbed. Material that has been wet too long to recover comes out.
Treat and dry
Anything left in place are treated with an antimicrobial, and drying equipment runs until the structure is back to normal. We check progress on alternate days.
Report
You get an initial report and a scope or quote within 24 hours, and a completion report 24 to 48 hours after the work finishes. Reports, scopes and quotes are done live on site.
Where the scope lists contents that need to be moved out of the way, we can relocate them for the works. Rooms come back into use once drying checks are complete.
Why a clean alone doesn’t hold
Mould is a sign that something stayed wet for too long. It might be a roof that lets in water during heavy rain, a leaking shower recess, or a wall that never dried after a burst pipe. If only the visible growth is cleaned, the damp material behind it keeps feeding new growth, and the stain is back within weeks.
Ruby Leach described the drying side well in a Google review: “water seeped into our walls and our unit was at a very high risk for mould :( Guosheng worked tirelessly to ensure the drying process went as smooth as possible”.
Coast towns on this page
We cover Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Caloundra, Noosa Heads, Nambour, Buderim and Coolum Beach. The Sunshine Coast is a metro area for our response targets, so we aim to be on site within 2 hours of an emergency call. Emergency mitigation runs 24/7, 365 days a year.
Behind the work is the Elite brand, operating since 1984, with $20 million in public and products liability cover. Where mould follows an insured leak or storm, we liaise with insurers on the claim.
Sunshine Coast mould questions
What happens to furniture that is in the way?
Where the scope lists contents that need to be moved, we relocate them for the works. In July 2026 contents were relocated for building works at a property in Yandina.
Do you work on offices and shops?
Yes. In August 2026 we worked on an office in Mooloolaba, and the business is CM3 certified for contractor safety and compliance, which commercial clients and property managers often ask for.
How long does the drying take?
It depends on the material and how long it was wet. We check progress on alternate days rather than guess, and the completion report comes 24 to 48 hours after the work finishes.
Can you tell me whether it is mould or just a stain?
Yes. The inspection comes first, and where testing helps, samples go to NATA-accredited laboratory partners. You get an initial report and a scope or quote within 24 hours.
