Elite Restoration inspects and tests for mould on the Sunshine Coast, across Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Buderim, Nambour, Coolum Beach, Noosa Heads and Caloundra. The inspection locates the growth, including what sits behind linings and in ceiling spaces, identifies the moisture causing it, and sets out the fix in line with IICRC S520.
It is worth a call when a room smells musty, when growth returns after it has been cleaned, after a leak or flood, or when a tenancy, a sale or an insurance claim needs a proper report.
“We had a pipe burst in our ceiling, water seeped into our walls and our unit was at a very high risk for mould :( Guosheng worked tirelessly to ensure the drying process went as smooth as possible, even working until the evening on a Friday to ensure our walls would be dry and safe over the weekend! An extremely proficient and productive company that thrives on providing excellent service and quality work. Thank you so much for all of your help! <3”
“Guosheng from Elite Restoration did an amazing job dealing with the water damage to my unit, due to a burst pipe. Nothing was too hard and Guosheng had multiple tricks up his sleeve to ensure maximum drying capacity. The communication throughout the whole process was excellent, which made this very stressful situation for me a lot easier to handle. Thanks so much Guosheng.☺️”
Mould remediation is never a simple clean. Under the
IICRC S520 Standard for Professional Mould Remediation,
treating mould without a proper inspection risks missing the underlying
moisture source and leads to recurrence. Every mould job starts with a
professional inspection by S520-certified technicians, so containment,
controls and the remediation scope are set correctly from day one.
Inspection from $350 inc. GST. Remediation is scoped and
quoted separately, only after the inspection.
Find the cause — identify the moisture source so remediation actually holds.
Set containment — protect unaffected areas during the work.
Clear scope & documentation — written report you can give insurers or strata managers.
Want to know exactly what you’ll receive? Download a real example of the
written report our S520-certified technicians produce after a mould
inspection — findings, moisture readings, photos and the recommended
remediation scope.
We ask what you have seen, where, and when it started, including any water event beforehand.
Moisture readings are taken through walls, ceilings and floors around the affected area, because moisture spreads wider than mould, and each affected room is checked.
Air or surface samples are collected where the extent is uncertain or lab results are needed, and tested through NATA-accredited laboratory partners.
You receive an initial report and a scope or quote, targeted within 24 hours.
If you go ahead, remediation and drying are done in line with IICRC S520 and S500, closed out with a completion report.
Drying is monitored on alternate days, so the structure is confirmed dry before the job is signed off rather than assumed to be.
Sampling measures spread, not health effects. If someone in the home is unwell, that conversation belongs with a doctor.
Because Elite Restoration also does the remediation, the scope is written by the team who will do the work. Reporting, scopes and quotes are done live on site, and where the mould follows an insured event, the team liaises with your insurer on the claim.

Mould and water damage tend to arrive together, and the drying is what stops one leading to the other. Sunshine Coast mould questions
What is in the written report?
Where the mould and the moisture were found, the readings, any laboratory results, the likely cause and the scope of work recommended, set out so an owner, agent or insurer can follow it.
Who deals with mould in a rented home?
Generally that depends on the cause: a building leak or defect, or how the home has been used and ventilated. The report records the cause so both sides work from the same facts.
Is it safe to stay home during the work?
That depends on the extent of the growth and on who lives there. The scope will say whether any rooms should be kept closed while work is under way.
