Fire and smoke damage restoration in Perth begins once the fire service releases the building: assess how far the residue and the odour have travelled, contain and clean the soot, dry the water the firefighting left, and restore what can be restored, in line with IICRC S700. Metro Perth carries our 2-hour on-site target, and the call-out runs 24/7, 365 days a year.
Until the assessment, don’t wipe the soot, and keep out of the rooms the smoke reached.

“Very good service, great job on upholstery especially. Arrived when he said, charged as quoted. No fuss. Some carpet stains were not budging though but then it’s an old carpet.”
“We had a pipe burst in our ceiling, water seeped into our walls and our unit was at a very high risk for mould :( Guosheng worked tirelessly to ensure the drying process went as smooth as possible, even working until the evening on a Friday to ensure our walls would be dry and safe over the weekend! An extremely proficient and productive company that thrives on providing excellent service and quality work. Thank you so much for all of your help! <3”
The first visit is a survey, not a clean. The technician maps where the residue settled, where the odour is held and where the water went, room by room, and writes the report live on site. Within 24 hours you have an initial report and a scope or quote that names what will be cleaned, what will be dried and what will come out, so nothing is removed without you knowing why.
Contain. The affected rooms are sealed so soot stops moving through the house.
Dry. Water from the hoses is extracted and the structure dried under IICRC S500, with readings on alternate days.
Clean. Surfaces and contents are cleaned; charred lining, soaked underlay and anything past recovery comes out. In an older Perth home, asbestos removal is done by in-house qualified technicians rather than subcontracted.
Deodorise. Odour is treated at its source, in the materials that hold it.
Report. A completion report follows within 24 to 48 hours of the work finishing.
Contents are assessed with the building, and what can be returned and what is written off is recorded in the report.

Perth questions
Is fire damage covered by insurance?
That depends on your policy. Where it is an insured event, we liaise with your insurer from the first call to the final sign-off, and the live on-site reports are what the claim runs on.
Does smoke damage reach rooms the fire didn’t?
Nearly always. Smoke moves through the roof space and the ducts, so the assessment covers the whole house.
Should I clean the soot myself?
No. Wiping pushes an oily residue into the surface and makes the clean harder.
