In November 2026 our team completed water damage restoration work in Truganina VIC 3029, with eight rooms documented across the property. Documentation is the first step on a job like this. Each room is recorded so the scope of the damage is clear before any drying or repair work begins.

The photographs that go with this update show two parts of the process. One is a ceiling with a patched water stain, a cut-open light fitting and a ceiling vent. Opening ceilings and fittings lets the team see where water has travelled into the cavity, which is often further than the visible stain suggests. The other is a moisture meter with its probe resting against a skirting board beside a timber floor. Readings taken at the base of walls and across the floor show whether moisture is still present in the materials and where drying equipment needs to be placed.
For water damage in general, the work is carried out in line with IICRC S500. That standard covers assessing the category and class of water, removing wet materials that can’t be dried, and running air movers and dehumidifiers until readings return to dry standard. Drying is monitored on a schedule, with readings recorded at each visit, so the team can confirm progress rather than assume it. Once materials reach their target readings, the site is closed out with a completion report.
The reason documentation and monitoring matter is that water left in a structure can cause problems well after the surface looks dry. Timber can swell and warp, plasterboard can soften, and mould can start within a few days if moisture stays trapped behind walls or under flooring. Recording every affected room and confirming dry readings gives the owner a clear record of what was done and why.
For residents and owners in Truganina, the practical point is that early, documented drying reduces the chance of hidden damage surfacing later. If a home or business in the area has been affected by water, a timely inspection and a written record of the moisture readings are the sensible first steps.
