Where the water came from changes the job
A burst pipe or a leaking appliance is clean water, and caught early the job is extraction and drying. Storm water has been through the roof space. Floodwater and sewage are contaminated, so the porous material they touched comes out. The last case is the wall wiped down after an earlier leak that never dried inside. The room tells only part of the story: flooring layers, wall cavities and the base of cabinets hold water that a dry surface hides, which is why the inspection measures them.
